In our yoga practice we focus on three main adjustments.
Physical adjustments in our postures to find alignment, ease and strength. Breath adjustments - focusing on controlled and intentional breathing. Mental adjustments - where we challenge our train of thought.
What does all this do?
In our yoga practice when we bring our attention to our physical and mental presence, and our breathe, we create an opportunity to adjust. Where can we alter or move slightly in order to achieve the desired fit or result. Creating a practice of awareness and adjustment allows our bodies, mind and breath to create new habits and new patterns.
We slowly become more aware of habits in our lives, both good and bad. Through our practice we are empowered to be aware, without judgement, and decide, do I stay or do I adjust?
